Monday, March 27, 2006 @ 10:45 am its been a pretty tragic weekend. and i say its tragic cos, this kinda thing doesnt happen jus any other week. hmms. well, grandma was diagnosed with having pneumonia yesterday. just as she was gonna return back home with us next friday too. and i take it to mean that if she doesnt recover from this illness, she might pass from collapsed lungs, which more than equates to death by suffocation (oh shudder shudder i hate that gasping feeling erks). then i heard too that she'd told my dad earlier about 'this man who always disturb her at night, asking her to come with him', and the man sounded alot like my grandfather. he died pretty long ago, btw. so geez haha its.. kinda givin me goosebumps. i think its pretty scary lying there in the lonesome hospital ward, waiting to see when the angel of death will prance out at you from around the next corner, and at the same time you're hearing voices from the other world? goshness. then amidst all that thingy of my grandma, i opened a msg my mom'd received and found out her friend had passed away. y'know, that army officer reported of dying in the Singapore Biatholon yesterday? yeah him. shit he'd been a government scholar, a current high ranking officer, a young man with very young family and all, and he was in the midst of working with my mom to change the army uniform's appearance or some big proj like that, then the next thing we know wham, he's dead. yeaaaaaa. i dont even know this guy la, but im not quite sure why he's death shook me pretty much too. maybe its jus the tragic aura of this weekend. losing people, whether by death or by life's situations, is one of the hardest facts-of-life to accept, methinks. WOAH! Monday, March 20, 2006 @ 2:23 pm "Foie gras is the fattened liver of a duck or goose that has been overfed. It is considered one of the greatest delicacies in French cuisine. It is very rich and buttery, with a delicate flavour unlike regular duck or goose liver. However, animal organizations regard the production method as cruel." i only learnt what foie gras was after doing my french project last sem. then a minute ago i decided to visit wikipedia.com to satisfy a quench for further knowledge (lol as if!). ugh and now i've undecidedly got a queasy stomach and a remourseful heart, for i ate some poor overfed goose's liver last night. :( ahh it was OMGoshness-DAMMMNNNN-friggin delicious, though! :D  thats the foie gras maki i had for dinner last night. a heavenly sinful piece of jap/french cuisine! MMMMMMS. :)i ate dinner at The Hibiki last night, this high class japanese restaurant at a high class and extremely ulu country club called The Legends. the food included in the voucher's set dinner was all kinda highly unique, hence i felt the need to take photos! LOL (camera phones are so convenient arent they!!) haha okay, so guess what the food in the next picture is. answers later on  looks a lil gross yes. heh i'll give you a hint, its something from the sea.rah anyhooowww. i also had the bestest green tea ice cream of my entire life for dessert!! wah words fail me, i cant even begin to describe how fucking good that ice cream was la..hahahaha blogger is being a bugger by refusing to let me post more pictures, so i'll give up now. and the picture above? thats SEA URCHIN EGGS! :O yesss. haha y'know, that ball of black spikes sea creature thats supposed to sting poison into you. i didnt think it laid eggs, did you?! lols its quite a delicacy anyway, twas rather yummy. Sunday, March 12, 2006 @ 10:52 pm I finally caught walk the line today with the half of the family that isnt in cheenaland China. recommended show! the five years they took to make this show was worth it i guess; the music, the singing and all was amazing. and i liked that it was a unique love story, nicenice. (: happy birthday Citigems. Joanne Peh was at ps admist their celebrations thingy so for cheap thrill's sake i wenta get a photo taken with her. after all, what are good camera phones for right! anyway ahhh she's pretty and she's hot and she's tall and im jealous laaaa.. tsk some women get it all. its snowing in china, my sis called to say. pah everyone's making me see green. lunched at nydc, reminised and caught up and all :) twas lovely. then we walked around town and went shopping! thought of getting similar pirate tees at zara. they were nice okay! but they were pretty pricey, and we said we'd get them during the sale or something. AND THEN! bout an hour later we walked down to espirit, tried on identical edc jeans (which are damn hot, i must say! ;D), and whadd'ya know!..they were a hell more costly than gettin those similar pirate tees! hahahaha we spent a good half hour pacing and modelling in front of the big fitting room mirror, deciding whether to get em or not to, and okay, we did in the end. hot jeans, yahoooies! was gon head home, when fate intervened (lol!) and i ended up chillin with darlings sherlyn and leanna in gardens. (like Mister Brosnan!) :D yay to new functions, cause i've got my NEW PHONE! :D yeah its not that new a model and i kinda miss my old sentimental value phone, but the k750i pretty much rocks! the only thing that would spoil today is if i had to lie down the entire day today with a tissue stuck up my nose. thats what i went thru last night, when my nose decided to, literally, bleed like a bloody fuck on its own accord. horrid ughhhh-ness. :/ i realised on friday that i've a sudden fetish for white bags. i realised on saturday that i'd been working for a moron of a boss (honestly) and that i'll hafta make my way down to the Ministry of Manpower tmr jus to get my pay. and it hit me on sunday that its now the season of lent. "Suffering with Joy", in an odd sense, yes? |
