hullo, its mothers day.

im looking around, and it seems to be just about another of the most ordinary boring yawnyawn sunday afternoon i've spent this year. how..quietly strange huh. in previous years, this day saw flower carts and gift carts at the front of the church with kids fighting to get their moms a rose stalk (i remember cos it was quite an adorable sight!), and this day saw families going out in herds for lunches or dinners and gardens would be practically overrun with people and cars, and moms of every sort were shown in all kinds of ways that they were really special people.

i dont know, but i think as a kid, i saw this day like an important celebratory festive day. i remember how, being the eldest child and grandchild, i'd struggle to come up with a different design of cards each year for my mom and my aunts and my grandmother (despite my uber lack of creativeness, lol). and i'd get my siblings to help me make little gifts like those diy clay magnets and photoframes stuff. the amount of things we used to do for mothers day/fathers day all! man, i think it did pop into my head once before that i'd go crazy if i had to think of something new to do every year for the rest of my life.

ha and strangely enough, all that stopped! i srsly cant remember when it did, but it did. i dont recall doing anything last year, or the year before. all we had was a big family dinner i think? yeah. this year was pretty fun, we had this bbq dinner at Hotel Rendezvous on friday night. it was supposed to be for mothers day, yet it felt like just another of those family gatherings. no gifts no cards no cake no shows of love and specialness or whatever la y'know, i thought it was quite laughable to call it a mothers day celebration.

my point after all is, i wonder how the moms themselves feel. yeah sure everyone's felt that "bah i hate my mom" thing ever so often, im starting to think its inborn in every typical child, lol. but i guess whether you wanna acknowledge it or not, parents, and specifically moms, have done something to our lives? jus something, anything big or small, whether or not you're damn close or are strangers with your mom; well guess its really an individual thing isnt it. i cant say this la, but i think being a parent's a damn tough job, plenty of self-conflicting issues and time constraint thingys all and then imagine raising a kid that hates you like hell in the end. shit, eeeks.

soooo. i know if i were a mother, or a parent to say the least, i'd wanna know that - considering im a good mom, heh - all i've done's appreciated man, and im loved for who i am to you (as in the child la). yes you know how its true when they say that in love (parental or whatsoever) you just give and there's nothing you really ask for in return, but i think being told that you're appreciated and needed and loved, is simply a basic human feeling that everyone deep down inside seeks to be fulfilled. and well, thats why we have Mothers Day, methinks! a day to jus show appreciation to someone who's probably always gon be there for us, a day to jus show some love to our moms. (:

(and if you feel that i jus wrote this whole thing very one sided-ly ah, and you'll argue with me saying 'my mother never do anything for me what she also dont care me one okay!', then all i've gotta say is, well i think it takes two to clap la, but my heartfelt apologies to you anyway. )

haha. Happy Mothers Day.

walao, an excessive rant that turned into quite an essay, hahaha. and after saying all that, all i got Mom were her birks and they're only arriving next week! bah *slaps silly self on forehead*

haha my grandma was cute! she's 83 now and has a bit of a memory problem, but she still made her way in her wheelchair to vote yesterday. and today she asked my dad who won the elections (strange that she would pay any attention to it, actually) and when he said the PAP won she was so gleefully excited she gave them two thumbs up and cheered and went 'Good good good!'

lol right so the exciting elections are finally over. thank goodness lah, i've begun to realise how taboo a subject politics can be everywhere. hohum.

dammmmn fast ah, school's going into the third week tmr already. "/ four friggin fridays (alliteration x3 wooot :D) more to the midsem tests week. eugh. yeah anyway i've gotten all my project groups settled! and a determined-not-to-do-last-minute-project-shit-again me has decided to get started okay!! ((: hoho go sarah!

ohh. its pretty interesting to watch the freshies in school; how they dress and behave and wait in herds by the overhead bridge before lessons. ahahaha, thank heavens we arent called that anymore by the way, being called freshies sounds retarded. hmm somehow though, i now feel that the school seems to be strangely overcrowded..

i <3 my threadless tee, the one thats got the design of that candy tank pikture above. hahaha everyone keeps asking me how i got my blog pic on my shirt! xD

right and i've ransacked my shorttermed memory span and i cant think of anything else senseless to ramble on about and bore you with, sigh! >:D
