End of an aRWSome internship!

byebye RWS!
I'm so thankful I came here for internship. :)

the Comms department + us interns! (:

and this is 4 of us in front of the lovely Resort model.

Aside from the cakes I was fretting to send out yesterday, I think we had a pretty good last day at work.

We spent the last few minutes in the office going from 5th floor to 1st, saying our thanks and byes to the awesome people who've welcomed us and made friends with us in the office. its really just been pleasant, and the people we've met here have added on to that great experience. We didn't get photos with that cute Selene and Ben, nor did I get a chance to say bye to that nice security guard who thinks I've got 2 helicopters and our funny streetfighter guy; Maybe next friday, there's the RWS staff xmas party and we'll be headin back to join em! thank god for that, yay! :D

I'll miss the feeling of not knowing whats gonna happen or what you're gonna do the next working day, the coolness of having so many opportunities to work on so many different things. This is just internship, I know - it'll definitely be a whole lot different when we REALLY enter the working world.

But for now, well, it was abso-great whilst it lasted. ♥

Back to school on wed! *mumblesgrumbles*

How tragic, the dragonboating incident.
I put myself in the shoes of the family, in those of the victim's loved ones, and I.. I don't know how'd I feel.

next weekend, Jared'll be off to Penang for his dragonboat race. What timing aye, lol. I can only not kill myself with over-thinking till then, and thank God that he likes his life jacket and that the competition won't be in dangerous retarded waters and that safety is high on everyone's minds then already, from this episode. Tis been a veiled blessing then, I guess.

Everyone take care, okay?

I miss a whole list of people and things now. Come this Friday it's one more for that list; sigh, byebye good ol' intern life!

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart
I carry it in my heart

Workidoodles!

I haven't blogged much about work.

So since I was at the site on Thursday for my newsletter thingy and managed to get a few cool pics, here is rare footage (it is!) from the 22m deep hole which in time to come will be a 4100-lot carpark, and the solid basement of our oh-so-lovely IR. :)

It was a frikkin hot day by the way, even though its looks slightly overcast in the pictures.

Yea and I am astounded at how the multitude of workers' survive it out there all week all year. and they have about 700+ more days to go can you believe it?! I was practically dying in my black pants and the stuffy helmet la, and there they were working their asses off in long sleeve shirts covered top to toe. Omg, phew!

funky!

vivo from the opposite side..

MONSTERTRUCKS!

and this is part of the greenery that does exist amongst all that rubble. pretty, yea?

To start off my coming week, I'm going tree-planting in Sentosa bright and early on Monday! Hurhurhur. Think mosquitoes. Think mud. Think back breaking heave-ho of tree and shovelling of soil filled with creepy crawlies. Ahhhhh! :/ I wanna be cool with Mother Nature and all ok, but I srsly hope its not gonna be all thaaaaat bad!

Work's included so many different things, different areas. Like through some of the recent research, I've found out a whole chunk about fine arts. Famous sculptures, eccentric artists like Dali my man hahaha, all those. Even took a visit to the Opera Gallery at Taka yesterday. Which was well, quite an eye-opener! I'm no appreciator of art and all that shiz but I'm honestly starting to be awed at some of this madcap surreal artist's fine works. Like, check out this splash of milk that forms a crown when photographed at a speed of 1/100 of a second,

Salvador Dali did something exactly like this before the guy I stole this photo from did. Heh! Really! I saw it today in the book on him we loaned from Opera Gallery. You really gotta give it to these people, who amazingly see things from a whole different viewpoint from the rest of us all. Artists, they call em.

And thats why I enjoy work, I guess. I enjoy how work takes me into so many different areas with different new things to learn. I enjoy juggling my tasks around, learning to prioritize things right. I love how working in my department doesn't constrain me to things I hate, like numbers and figures that I absolutely don't want to do. I can't even begin to list the many new things I've experienced from internship, the skills I've picked up, the people I've met, the things I've learned from the working world.

I hope the next two weeks go by DAMN slowly.
School is a safe haven, but it's different out here. Real different.

I kinda wish internship was longer. :/

WELL, LOOK WHO'S ONE YEAR OLDER!

It was MY DAY, like finally!! :D
Here goes my weekend!

SATURDAY!

Mom asked where I wanted to celebrate this year with the rest of the family, and I chose funkadelic Hard Rock Cafe! Always seemed like a pretty funky place to me.. and since there's a hotel of the same sort coming up soon, decided it was a good time to check it out. Definitely was worth it!

I know you can't see the food on the table for nuts, but man, WHAT A FEAST! OF GOOD FOOD!! omggggg la haha it sure was my kinda meal! We started off with nachos piled high with jalapeno cheese, then chicken wings, pasta, baked potatos, salad, ribs, munchmunchmunch and you know, it just seems to goes on forever! OH SO GOOOOD. so much so that I forgot to get pictures of anything for you to indulge in. heh

Those in the pic, they're my siblings and aunties and uncles and cousins, and my boyfriend is somewhere there too. Good food, great company, ginormous happening fun going on, yo!

... and then those people wenta go throw a "Hard Rock Birthday Surprise" on me.

They've this thing over at Hard Rock, that when they know its your birthday, TA-DA! a big gong sounds, you're called on by surprise, given a sundae and made to stand on a chair whilst everyone (in the restaurant) sings you a song, you have a birthday polaroid shot taken after, and then you hafta do something silly in front of everyone there!

Which is why I'm standing on a darn chair in the middle of nowhere in that pic! Hahaha, darn sneaky. Thank goodness I managed to get myself out of the embarassing situation after tt though, heee. Yayyy Free Sundae!

Jared and I shared my sundae, a root beer float and apple crumble for dessert after that. And with that all in my tummy, it just about toppled me over for the night. Hahaha. :)

So that was family-love night!

SUNDAY!

OK! Wah, this Birthday-Morning story is really a tale to tell man. Hahahaha, very sneaky YV!

To cut a long story short and to prevent myself from seeming like a reaaally blur girl (hahaha), on my birthday morn, I went to church as usual, was tricked into believing that no one was turning up for session that day AT ALL, made to feel grouchy and a bit puzzled, then further tricked into leaving church by Jared, telling me he was still going to take very long, which added on to the grouchy feel, haha and so I followed Varian Justin and Jamie (who were the only ones who showed up at church and were listening to me grumble for about an hour about why the others sucked for not coming for session and all..) to Sushi Tei since I was starving, and when we went upstairs..

.. who should be sitting there but all my deaaarrrrr YV people! with a cake and lighted candles and a big DSLR flash flashing in my face!! hahahahahaha :) I totally take back what I said about them who sucked because they weren't at church ok. lol! and so we ate cake and my favourite japanese food stuff and had a very filling lunch.

Oh yea, thats what I love about birthdays man: the surprise element!

Thanks a mil Jamie, and YV! and Gab for those picts. Thanks for all that, all the love laughter and madness, and for skipping a week of session just for my birthday. hahaha. I SRSLY LOVE THEM YV KIDS, thank god for em :D

And the rest of the day was with dear Jaredddd! ♥

Spent the afternoon in his arms and we talked and laughed and re-watched Hairspray and all, waiting for the dark clouds to clear. Baby gave me tickets to a musical! which we're gonna catch this coming weekend, yay! I love musicals la la la

And then and then, we decided to head to the Night Safari as planned, but just for dinner. A long lovely 3hour buffet spread for us at Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant!

I'm sorry because again, I was too in the midst of eating and enjoying the ambiance to care about photos. They play old nostalgic songs from yesteryear there, and there're these Survivor-like flamestands thingy that look pretty cool, and best! we were seated at a corner where we had a good view of some african cattle animals who were interesting. hahahaha! & we were SO FRIGGIN FULL AFTER, oh my. burp!

This pict says I love you very much, okie!!
Thanks for everything Baby. (:

And I go to sleep on my first night as a 19-year-old, so contented, happy, and also feeling fat.
hahaha sigh!

and if that wasn't enough big meals for you to picture me gobbling down in a single weekend,

MONDAY!

After work, to Akashi we went!

This time, with my group-loves! (except Isaac, who was only there in our thoughts that day. Haha!) MORE Jap food for me man, yum oh yum. Akashi has super great set meals. Anyway, thanks Feli! and Stef and Elena and Gab and Isaac and Naysh, for the gifts and dinner and the company. GROUPWORK together again soon guys! ;) hahaha, crap.

And so, I love my birthday.
I think November 11 rocks, its a happening day man. go wikipedia that date and check it out. From Nov 11, we've only 50 days before the end of the year, y'know?

YAY, CELEBRATORY MOOD CAN KICK IN SOON! (((:

well, thank you once again! you and you and you.
remembering a birthday, my birthday; that action in itself means so much to me.
xoxoxo

Last eighteenth weekend

AHHHH, there's something wrong with my laptop!

currently i'm functioning without an explorer.exe (that is: no desktop, no taskbar, no icons, only task manager) and hence i can only run one window at a time, thank god for the internet running still. the other major problem though is that my MSN doesn't work, so haha, no online chats till i get this fixed. sigh.

why are we all so dependent on technology.

Hokay ANYWAY,

omggggg I met up with my long-long-time-no-see primary school friends this weekend!!!

it was Mabel's birthday, so she'd invited us all for a BBQ at Pasir Ris. 19, the last age of teenhood. man, how time flies and flies and flies! Anyway, I met Chris and Judith first, and we wenta get her present.. which was super old-school Strawberry Shortcake stuff! Super cute, hahahahaha :) Happy birthday old friend!

OLGC's Peace girls, after 7 years!

Me Judith Kris Chris !

..and this was us as young lil ones on racial harmony day. awww

Lol. It was SO SO fun la seriously. Who'd think we were friends who hadn't been in contact for the longest time man! Everyone was talking and gossiping and reminiscing and laughing so friggin hard, it really was sucha great night just catching up and all. Remember so-and-so and her strange ways and this funny incident and that silly teacher and our hate against the nextdoor class.. and it just went on and on and on. Haha, real super-duper night! :D

(Oh ya, Kris has set up a Facebook group for OLGC Peace class girls too. Mehehe, JOIN!)

And today, today. Singapore River Regatta was on. Jared got his first medal, yay!

:)

It's been a pretty long day, besides that. helped Thomas get his grad night stuff too. Haha, eh GradNight for me soon! Ah jeez, but I heard we've to register for Napfa soon too, before graduation. and how the hell I'm gonna even survive 2.4 by then, I do not know! with Jared's help, maybe baby. hahahahaha. Ok I'm sleepy and full now, and tomorrow's Monday.

Sigh! SLEEEP!
